Step 1 — Choose the Email(s) You Want to Send

Use the templates provided in this playbook:

  • $0 LTV Leads → Turn non-buyers into first-time subscribers
  • Churned Customers → Show them what's new + present a strong winback offer
  • Monthly Subscribers → Offer a discounted upgrade to annual

Pick just one to start — simplicity wins. Our recommendation is to target the biggest segment available to you.

To check which of your segments is the largest:

To find $0 LTV Leads: Filter by user type → Lead, then click "more filters," under "Lifetime amount" place a 0 in the "$ max" field. The top left of the table shows the total number in that segment.

To find Churned Customers: Filter by user type → Member, then filter by status → Churned.

To find Monthly Subscribers: Go to the Subscription Tab and find your monthly plans.


Step 2 — Create a New Email Broadcast


Step 3 — Design Your Email

  • Go to the Email Design tab
  • Copy/paste your chosen template into a Text Block
  • Add/replace: anything highlighted in blue — your name/brand name, offer details, any links
  • (Optional) Add: a hero image, buttons for your CTA, testimonials or screenshots

Step 4 — Target the Right Audience

This is the most important step. After setting up the Details and Email Design, click Recipients to choose who to send to. Regardless of segment, you'll start by clicking "Add Group".

If you're emailing $0 LTV leads:
  • Choose "Matching ALL of the following"
  • In the 2nd dropdown menu, choose "User Type" and click "Add Filter"
  • Select "Lead" and click Apply
  • Click "Add group" again
  • In the bottom dropdown, select "Lifetime spend" and click "Add Filter"
  • In the "Spent" field change it to "Equal to" and leave the Amount set to 0. Click Update.
If you're emailing churned customers:
  • Choose "Matching all of the following"
  • In the 2nd dropdown menu, choose "Subscription status" and click "Add Filter"
  • Select "Churned" and click Apply
If you're emailing monthly subscribers:
  • Choose "Matching all of the following"
  • Choose "Subscription status" and click "Add Filter"
  • Select "Active" and click Apply
  • Click "Add Group" again
  • Select "Subscription" and click "Add Filter"
  • Select your monthly subscription plans and click Update

💡 Tip: Use the "Matching All" option above the filters to make sure only the correct segment receives the email.


Step 5 — Preview & Send

  • Click Preview to double-check formatting
  • Send a test email to yourself
  • Review the test email in your inbox. Edit as needed or move to step 4
  • Click Finalize Broadcast
  • Choose whether to Send Now or Schedule for later

💡 Best Practice: Send mid-morning or early afternoon for high engagement.


Pro Tips to Maximize Revenue

✔ Use a strong, clear offer

Pick one main offer type (don't stack three ideas at once): 30% off your first 3 months (great for getting new people in the door) or 20–30% off your annual plan (great for upgrading existing monthly members).

Add real urgency by making it time-bound and/or limited: run it for 2–5 days max with a clear deadline, or cap it: "Available for the first 25 people who join/upgrade." If you say the offer ends Sunday, it ends Sunday.

✔ Send more than once

People miss emails. Sending a reminder 48–72 hours later increases conversions significantly.

✔ Use buttons for your CTA

Buttons outperform text links.

✔ Personalize the intro

Adding variables like {{user.first_name}} meaningfully boosts engagement. When editing a text block in your emails, find a handy list under the { } icon.

✔ Auto-apply coupon codes to checkout links
